General Terms and Conditions for the 2026/2027 School Year

English courses for children begin in the week starting 7 September 2026.

Course Locations

In-person courses take place at the following locations:

• Středisko volného času Ostrava-Zábřeh (Klubko), Gurťjevova 8, Ostrava-Zábřeh
• Pilates Ostrava, Poděbradova 24, Moravská Ostrava
• Masaryk Primary and Nursery School Bohumín, Seifertova 601, Bohumín – in the side wing of the school building

Online lessons are provided through an online learning platform. Parents will receive login details and technical instructions before the course begins.

Exact days and times are listed in the timetable for the 2026/2027 school year.

Number and Length of In-Person Lessons

In-person courses run from September to June and include 16 lessons per term:

• Toddlers: 16 lessons of 30 minutes in the first term and 16 lessons of 45 minutes in the second term;
• Beginners: 2 × 16 lessons of 60 minutes;
• Lower-intermediate children aged 4–5: 16 lessons of 60 minutes in the first term and 16 lessons of 75 minutes in the second term;
• Lower-intermediate schoolchildren: 2 × 16 lessons of 60 minutes;
• Advanced groups of all ages: 2 × 16 lessons of 90 minutes.

Where two groups of the same level are available, twice-weekly intensive tuition may be arranged individually.

Number and Length of Online Lessons

Online courses include 2 × 18 lessons. The length of each lesson depends on the number of children in the group. Further information is provided in the price list.

Online tuition is provided individually or in small groups of no more than six children.

Group Size and Course Opening

In-person groups usually have 7–9 children.

A course can open once at least seven valid applications have been received. If fewer children enrol, the lesson length or course fee may be adjusted by agreement with the parents.

If only five or six children enrol in a 90-minute group, the lesson may be shortened to 60 minutes at the price stated in the price list.

Children may also join a course during the school year if a suitable group has a place available.

If the number of children in a group falls significantly during the school year, the course may be cancelled. Parents will first be offered a suitable alternative. If they do not accept it, they will receive a proportional refund based on the number of lessons already provided.

Group composition and lesson times may be adjusted according to the number, age and English level of the children enrolled.

Parents’ Participation in Lessons

Toddlers and beginners attend lessons with a parent or another responsible adult who actively participates in the lesson.

For other children, the parent’s presence and participation depend on the child’s age and individual needs.

If a parent or another responsible adult is present during a lesson, they remain responsible for supervising the child and for the child’s behaviour throughout the lesson. In such cases, the teacher does not assume responsibility for supervising the child.

Cancelling and Making Up Lessons

If a child is unable to attend a lesson, please let us know:

• by email at babyenglish@seznam.cz no later than the day before the lesson;
• by text message to +420 737 744 997 no later than one hour before the lesson begins.

A long-term absence does not entitle the parent to a refund or reduction of the course fee.

Subject to prior agreement with the teacher and available capacity, a properly cancelled lesson may be made up before the end of the paid term in another group of the same or a lower level. Make-up lessons are not automatically guaranteed.

By prior agreement, toddlers may also make up lessons in a beginners’ group.

School Holidays and Cancelled Lessons

Lessons do not take place on Czech public holidays or during the Christmas holidays. Where announced in advance, lessons may also be suspended during other school holidays.

If a lesson is cancelled because of the teacher’s illness, a replacement lesson will be provided and the course will be extended accordingly.

Application and Payment of Course Fees

The application is binding for the entire 2026/2027 school year.

The amount stated in the price list is the fee for one term. Unless agreed otherwise, the course fee is paid in two equal termly payments.

Payment can be made:

• by bank transfer to account number 200450583/0300;
• in cash at the lesson.

When paying by bank transfer, please use the child’s date of birth as the variable symbol and enter the child’s name in the payment reference.

• The first-term payment must be made by 27 September 2026.
• The second-term payment must be made by 17 January 2027.

The child’s parent or legal guardian is responsible for paying the course fee correctly and on time.

For children attending Baby English for the first time, payment may be made after the first lesson so that parents can decide whether the teaching format suits their child. If the child continues, the full course fee must be paid. If the child does not continue, there is nothing to pay.

Siblings Attending Lessons

A sibling under 18 months of age may attend the lesson free of charge, provided that they do not actively participate in the lesson or significantly disrupt it.

We offer a 30% discount on the course fee for a sibling aged between 18 months and their second birthday who actively participates in lessons in the same group.

A sibling may attend only if their presence does not disrupt the lesson.

Behaviour During Lessons and Liability for Damage

After giving prior notice, the teacher may exclude a child from the course if the child’s behaviour significantly disrupts the lessons. If the course fee has already been paid, the parents will receive a proportional refund for the lessons that have not taken place.

Children and accompanying adults must behave in a way that prevents damage to property belonging to the teacher or the owner of the premises. Anyone causing damage is required to compensate for it in full.

Unforeseen Circumstances

If in-person tuition cannot take place because of unforeseen circumstances or force majeure, such as the temporary closure of a school or other rented premises, the course may move online so that lessons can continue.

Parents will be informed in advance about the format and length of the online lessons, taking the children’s age into account.

Photography and Recordings

Photographs, videos and audio recordings taken by parents during lessons must not be published online or on social media without the prior consent of Baby English and the people recorded or their parents or legal guardians.

Consent to the taking and use of photographs and video recordings of a child for Baby English promotional purposes is voluntary and is given separately in the application form. Refusing or later withdrawing this consent does not affect the child’s ability to attend the course.

Personal Data Protection

Personal data required for processing applications, organising lessons, communicating with parents, recording payments and complying with legal obligations are processed only to the extent necessary for providing the course.

The Czech Trade Inspection Authority is responsible for out-of-court settlement of consumer disputes. Further information is available at www.coi.gov.cz/informace-o-adr/.

Validity of These Terms

These terms and conditions apply to the 2026/2027 school year. Before submitting the binding application, the parent or legal guardian confirms that they have read and understood these terms.
